Our customers rely on us when they need help sourcing obsolete, rare or hard to find components.

Our Strategy

1. Supply from Stock

Our 1st approach is to supply from our UK warehouses. We physically hold over 100 million components at our purpose-built warehouse just outside of Chelmsford in Essex.

Our physical stock ranges from board level components such as semi-conductors, transistors, valves, connectors to complete assemblies. Many have both commercial and defence applications in platforms such as radars, defence automobiles and APC, naval vessels and aircraft. OEM’s include Intel, TEXAS, Rolls Royce, GEC, Plessy, Marconi, EEV/E2V.

2. Source from Open Market

Where we do not have an item in stock, our team of industry experts source components, researching and cross-referring available data. They use our extensive library and offline databases, commercial databases and online marketplaces to track down legacy stock and find approved equivalent parts.

We can work with any recognised codification including commercial part numbers, OEM proprietary references, Aerospace ATA references, NSN and other defence standards.

3. Repair and Overhaul

Where a component or assembly is no longer available internationally, we look to overhaul or repair any viable existing item. Our engineers analyse the assembly, identify the reason for failure, develop a BOM and source or manufacturer replacement components, returning a serviceable product to the client.

4. Build to Print Manufacturing and Reverse Engineering

Where the remaining samples are BER (Beyond Economic Repair) our team of Electronics Engineers, Precision Engineers and Machinists manufacture replacement products based on available specifications (Build to Print), or by reverse engineering a sample (working or otherwise).

Additionally, we are able to call on a wide secondary network of specialists as required.

Manufacturing and Reverse Engineering projects we have undertaken have been supplied for aerospace (defence and commercial), defence automobiles and APC and naval platforms incl. submarines.

Electronics assignments have included multi-level PCB’s, cable assemblies, emergency lighting and switches, connectors and avionics and radar components.

5. Precision Engineering

Our precision engineering firm Electropak supports the groups obsolescence projects manufacturing replacement parts to high specifications and tight lead-times.

We have supplied replacement machined steel, aluminium and copper components for applications across Commercial Aviation, the UK and EU Rail Networks, as well as Formula 1 and Motorsports teams.
